read me a story

benjamin has a newfound love/discovery of his books. he now goes to his bookcase, chooses a book (usually one of about six favorites), and comes up to tim and i saying "guh-UHHH" (he means "go" but it has multiple syllables). he hands us the book and turns around and plops down in front of the chosen reader. it's so cute. and i can recite the words to those six books without looking, i think...

nineteen months old

the little guy is 19 months old today! he just learned this morning to say "wuh wuh" when we point to his whale and ask who it is. (that whale is the first thing anyone bought him - it came from the aquarium of the pacific, and his grandparents bought it when i was only 10 weeks pregnant or so!)
life is good - only 10 days until benjamin and i leave for california/maui. hopefully the travel will be easy and we get there safe and sound. i'm definitely in need of some relaxation.

helping with the cleaning

apparently the swiffer is our best toy. benjamin was chasing it around while i was cleaning the floor, and when i finished i handed it over and he cleaned some more! what a great helper. :)

acrobatics

apparently, benjamin would like to be a little gymnast. he was attempting to do somersaults today, and completely cracked me up. he sort of did one (it was a little sideways), and on the following attempts i proceeded to flip his legs over and he laughed so hard!

happy birthday to me and benjamin's first day of preschool.

today was benjamin's first day of his "ones" preschool. he did pretty well - i picked him up early, since he (along with everyone else in the class) was crying for a bit. i'm sure it will take him a few weeks to get used to it, but it's good that he's seeing/playing with other kids and that i get to run some errands without my little sidekick. here's a photo from this morning:and, it's my birthday! tim got us tickets to see "spamalot" in april. i'm excited!
