first and last

This post is inspired by my friend Jen, who I stole the idea from! :) Our boys are the same age, both blondies with blue eyes, and we were fast friends when we met in a Beth Moore study several years ago, when the boys were only about a year old. We have both since moved away from NC, but keep in touch!

Benjamin's last day of preschool for the year was yesterday. They had an ice cream party and got yearbooks (SO CUTE!), made necklaces and got their faces painted. I love this school and have been so blessed that Benjamin has been there this past year and will return in the fall (and that Noah will get to attend after that!).

I took the following photos on Benjamin's first and last days of school. He looks like such a big boy in the picture I took yesterday of my little clock! (He chose to have his face painted like a clock because "it has numbers!") I am already excited for summer "camp" in July, and I know he is too! :)

busy busy busy!

We've been busy lately, it appears! Between playdates and visitors, our calendar has been full of fun! This weekend, grandma and grandpa B have been in town. They have been busy blowing bubbles, chasing, reading, feeding and loving their grandsons!

On Friday we got some family photos taken! (Thank you, free picture people coupon...)
The Bs graciously watched the boys so Tim and I could attend our 10 year college reunion. It was fun catching up with old friends, walking around the campus where we met (and had our wedding reception!), and just having some time together! Oxy is such a gorgeous campus.

With Tim's great-uncle, also an Oxy alum!
With friends!

twenty

This little boy is twenty months old today, that is!
Some interesting things he has been up to lately...
Talking. Noah doesn't talk a lot. Here are the words he says consistently: go, dada, down, cow/moo, tiger/grr grr, woof (dog), milk (sounds like "muh" and he stands in front of the refrigerator door), cracker, and cheese. He signs a lot of words: more, please, thank you, milk, bird, dog, fish, bye/hi, elephant, all done, book, yay (claps). He also follows instructions (go get your shoes, sit down, lay day, can I have a hug? etc). He loves looking at books, pointing out ducks, spiders, and anything else I ask him about. Noah turns the pages the correct direction and if the book is upside down he turns it the correct way. He loves to stack blocks and put duplos together. He is VERY good at wooden puzzles, even putting the pieces in the correct place after only seeing the puzzle once. He can open and close containers, including twist-off ones. Noah loves playing pretend chef - he pours, stirs, sets a timer, and puts things in the oven. We're working on helping him learn to stop throwing things (especially his cup when he's done drinking/eating). Noah is a sweet and cuddly little boy, who is getting big so fast!

happy mother's day!!

happy birthday jack!

We had an out-of-this-world time at Jack's birthday party yesterday! There were legos, playdough, hovercrafting, and a spaceship!
And food, of course. YUM!

anatomy of a photo shoot

I decided to photograph the boys the other day. They were looking so cute in their little polo shirts and jeans. However, getting two little boys to sit still in the same chair is no small feat.

1. Drinking their milk. Benjamin DOES have his arm around his brother, but no one is looking at the camera.

2. I convince them to give their cups to me, Benjamin decided NOT to put his arm around his brother anymore, but they're both looking at me AND smiling!
3. Aaaaaannnnnd Benjamin is leaving the chair.
4. Now Noah's leaving the chair, and I completely overexposed this one.
5. I get Noah back into the chair, make ridiculous sounds to make them laugh and stay put. OH! I got a good one!
6. Hahaha, this one just makes me laugh.
7. I don't really know what's happening here.
8. Or here.
9-11. Adorable. I could hug them.
12. He was certain that a bug was going to fly into his ear. LOOK AT THOSE EYES! Seriously.

bubbles.

It was a beautiful morning yesterday, so we played outside. Benjamin loves blowing bubbles. Thankfully it rained today so all the bubble soap on the patio was washed off! :)
