Easter egg hunting

Benjamin enjoyed an Easter egg hunt today. It was free, a beautiful day, slightly insane within the egg-hunting boundaries, and we met some friends from church there so we had a fun lunch afterward.

He thought it was fun to wear his basket:

After, with one of his four eggs (which he traded in for a fun little treat box with some candy, stickers, and some coupons for the nearby businesses):

Santa Barbara and basketball

We went to Santa Barbara yesterday and got some photos all together!

"It's gettin' me all wet!" (Benjamin talking about the fountain...)

Yes, I'm tickling them both so I could get good smiles!
Swinging!

Today we had such a nice afternoon that I moved the basketball hoop and exersaucer out to the patio.
IN the basket!

Benjamin, writing numbers (we've already moved on from just creating numbers out of objects in our house...):

Aren't they adorable? And smart?? ;)

Tim was helping his brother & sister-in-law move today, and since I didn't think Benjamin and Noah would be much help (well, Benjamin might have carried a pillow or two), we met a friend of mine from Newark for lunch at Nicola's Kitchen! I've known Karen since probably Jr. High, and it was so much fun to get together and catch up after too many years! Noah and Benjamin both loved her of course...probably because she gave Benjamin two pennies and let Noah drool on her. :)

birdies.

Using possibly all of my creativity, Benjamin and I created these little cuties yesterday. (Not that this is a novel idea, but I thought it would be fun!) I love that my son likes to create things with me!Materials: an egg carton cut up, 12 cotton balls, 24 adhesive googly eyes (from Target), 12 triangle foam stickers (from Michael's), and some white glue. What we did:
I pre-cut the egg carton and trimmed the tall pieces, then put a dollop of glue in the bottom of each cup. Benjamin pushed the cotton balls onto the glue and I helped him place the eyes and foam stickers onto the cotton, forming the beak. Voila! That's it. We decided to put names on them for Easter dinner. Simple, adorable little place "cards" for Easter! Well, if they last that long - Benjamin likes to carry his around with him...at least we have some extras...

numbers

Benjamin clearly takes after his father...His new favorite thing to do is make numbers out of his toys, such as blocks:Or train tracks and blocks (note the 3 from his number puzzle, there for inspiration):
Or train tracks and trucks:
Or just train tracks (to be fair, I helped a little with these):

Don't you just want to hug him??

And Noah is working on being a cutie pie as well:
